GARNER THREE EMMY® NOMINATIONS

(Nashville, TN)  Sunrise Entertainment is thrilled to announce that its collaboration with the critically acclaimed Nashville Symphony Orchestra for the Gala world premiere of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center on Sept. 9, 2006 has earned a total of THREE Emmy® nominations from the Mid-South Emmy® Awards, which will take place on January 26, 2008 at the Symphony Center’s Laura Turner Concert Hall. 

One Symphony Place: A World Premiere Live from Music City’ garnered top nominations in the categories of Best Special Event (Live), Best Director (non-news), and Best Audio.  One Symphony Placewas telecast regionally on PBS and simulcast on NPR.   It become the highest rated music special in Nashville Public Television history, and was the first HDSR live musical broadcast in America. 

“We are thrilled not only for our part in this historic event, but for the amazing performance of the Nashville Symphony.  The orchestra played beautifully that night, and made the job of producing both an HD and SD television simulcast with 5.1 Surround audio a pleasure,” said Robert Swope, CEO/President of Sunrise Entertainment.  As Co-Executive Producer, Director and Audio Co-Producer with Michael Davis, Swope is nominated in all three categories.

One Symphony Placewas also the premiere High Definition telecast on WNPT, Nashville’s public broadcasting affiliate.  “We were honored and proud to enable everyone in Middle Tennessee to share the Nashville Symphony’s premiere opening Gala.  While it was a huge technical feat for us, we can only thank Robert (Swope) and his production team for the wonderful production and we congratulate them on their Emmy® Nominations!” said Beth Gurley, President of Nashville Public Television.

The Nashville Symphony has been honored with multiple Grammy nominations, and is the most recorded symphonic orchestra on the Naxos Record label.  Particularly renowned for its’ American Classics recordings, the Nashville Symphony is quickly becoming one of the most respected orchestras in the world.
